The prestigious Swiss watch maker Jean-Francois produced a classic, premium timepieces-Girard-Perregaux in 1791 which had lead him renounced and famous. He determined to produce this watch at the age of only nineteen. The existence of this Girard-Perregaux is way back 210 years from now with a huge reputation started in Switzerland. Its present day name celebrates the marriage of watch maker Constant Girard with Marie Perregaux, and came into existence in mid-nineteenth century. The watchmaker-Girard-Perregaux with the necessary talent it is able to delight and astound the connoisseur with creating the first genuine and high-quality ultra-thin watches.
Girard-Perregaux has not only survived fully intact, but emerged even stronger than before to produce high-quality mechanical timepieces using engineering and architectural techniques in its internal Research and Development department. With the help of cutting-edge technology, the company has been manufacturing the majority of movements used within the timepieces since its beginning. The company’s most famous timepiece "Tourbillon under Three Gold Bridges"was first launched in 1867 which is perhaps the most well known pocket watch within the world of horology. These watches are completely handmade at Girard-Perregaux's workshops, and are blended with amazing mechanical art, which are cast in solid gold, and are stunningly beautiful to behold. For the first time in the company’s history more wristwatches than pocket-watches were sold in the year 1930. A notable landmark in Girard-Perregaux’s history was when Otto Graef, a German watchmaker and owner of MIMO (Manufacture Internationale de Montres Or), bought out Girard-Perregaux’s share capital. Constant Girard had anticipated this successful moment which took place almost after fifty years. The brand grew rapidly under the leadership of Otto Graef in Europe and America in form of stunning wrist watches. Sea Hawk was the one of its most popular water resist wrist watch models at that time. Girard-Perregaux came up with a curved rectangular watch that caught Europe’s fancy in 1945. The brand was recreated in 1995 as the Vintage 1945 collections, and became a rage both among men and women. The three other important collections from the house of Girard-Perregaux are Richeville and Classique Elegance and the Cat’s Eye line of watches that were launched for women in 2004. Currently the Girard-Perregaux brand is owned by Italian entrepreneur, architect and former racing driver, Luigi Macaluso. Under his leadership, Girard-Perregaux signed a co-branding agreement with Ferrari and has also become involved in the America's Cup alongside the BMW Oracle Racing Team. Presently Girard-Perregaux is secure in its position as a cultural symbol of a town that produces the world’s most precise electronic and micro-mechanical components for watches, aerospace and medical instruments. In fact Girard-Perregaux offers one of the highest quality wristwatches available in the contemporary horology market.
